::Poker:: "It's hard work. Gambling. Playing poker. Don't let anyone tell you different. Think about what it's like sitting at a poker table with people whose only goal is to cut your throat, take your money, and leave you out back talking to yourself about what went wrong inside. That probably sounds harsh. But that's the way it is at the poker table. If you don't believe me, then you're the lamb that's going off to the slaughter." Stu Unger, three-time WSOP Champion Anything that makes a poker player job looks cool man ;) Andry at 8:57 PM :: Il lido :: went to il lido over on monday with my fren for dinner. surprisingly, we reached there at 845, but its fricking full house. how unreal? on monday! but it wasnt too long before we got a seat at 9pm though. my fren got the manager to give us special attention. n well, its a pretty good experience i must say. the ambience was really good. very nice, overseeing the golf course and the seaview is really calm n nice. n very polite waiters.(well, how much lesser can i expect right!?) The champange was really good, although my fren couldnt appreciate the champange.(what a dork eh). the food, however, isnt tht great. had truffles set meal. cost about 160 each set. definetly not worth the money because the food doesnt taste that great, was expecting more for the price i pay. and truffles, u cant taste it man, apparently some italian fresh truffles flown from italy.. but still, only like that... au petit beats it in terms of pricing and tastiness of the food. its different cusine, namely italian n french, however i must say, the similarities is almost identical, at least for the higher range of food for italian cusine. but overall, i must say, i had a really good time. its been a while since i had such good company. i guess the company is the most important factor. so important, tht i would actually rate the night 9.5 out of 10 even though the food isnt quite up to standard. one interesting factor to note is that, apparently, we are the only young adults there. everyone else who dined there, are all at the late thirties n of course older. btw, check out the champange, its Blanc de Blanc. good shit. :) Andry at 1:58 PM ::growing up:: as u grow older, u become more humble, and ruthless. n i've reached a point in life tht i realise tht money, is not as big a deal as it seems. i know i've said it before, but lets jus say the value of money is jus depreciating by the day. its only so much. value in the context of the happiness tht it theorically should bring.
